Our Story
A legacy of service in Jacksonville
Since 1913, the Springfield Rotary Club has been a steadfast force for good in our community.
The Springfield Rotary Club was chartered in 1913 to serve Jacksonville's historic Springfield neighborhood and surrounding areas. As part of Rotary International — a global network of 1.4 million members in over 200 countries — our club brings together local leaders, professionals, and community-minded neighbors who share a common goal: to make a meaningful difference where it's needed most.
Rotary clubs operate on a simple but powerful model. Members meet regularly to build fellowship, exchange ideas, and organize hands-on service projects that address real community needs. Guided by the motto "Service Above Self," we pair the time and talent of our members with fundraising and partnerships to deliver lasting impact at the local level.
Our mission is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. Locally, that means supporting youth literacy, food security, veterans, scholarships, and neighborhood improvement. Globally, it means joining Rotary's worldwide efforts on causes like clean water, disease prevention.
The result is a club that strengthens Jacksonville one project at a time — and connects our community to a global movement of people of action working to build a better world.
